Speed Jump
Hello, how do I keep my motorcycle from nosediving after a very small jump at slow speed?
I have a two stroke 125cc trail bike (dt125re) and the front wheel always drops instantly almost throwing me over the handlebar and I don’t even get to jump. (I’m talking very small jumps here, the kind you occasionally come across while offroading where your rear wheel almost doesn’t leave the ground.
How can I keep the front end either up or level as the motorcycle leaves the edge of the drop?

Vitor, are we talking jumps or kickers? There is a big difference. A jump is longer than the wheelbase of the motorcycle, a kicker is not. If the “jump” you are talking about is shorter than your bike it is technically a kicker, named this because it kicks your rear wheel up in the air. If this is the case what I generally do is accelerate pretty hard as my front end hits the kicker. This brings the front end up high and then when the rear hits it things kind of level off. If you are indeed talking about a jump that has a face that is at least 5 feet long then you just need to keep the throttle on through the face of the jump as someone else mentioned and get your weight further back. Remember, anytime you’re jumping a 4 stroke you never let off of the throttle until you leave the face of the jump or the engine braking will send your nose low.
