Magnetic Resistance
Can’t figure out how to adjust the resistance on my excercise bike…help!?
i have an older model proform 900L and i can’t find any info or a user’s manual for it online. a model that seems similar has something called SMR Silent Magnetic Resistance (what is this?)Anyone have a clue?
You can’t find a resistance adjustment because there isn’t any.
Magnetic resistance is automatic based on the speed you pedal- the faster you pedal the greater the magnetic field is generated which is trying to slow you down. This is a very smooth type of resistance and it is doubtful you could even tell that it is changing because there is no “drag”.
This type of resistance is much preferred over the friction type because it is so smooth and much more effective when the equipment is used to its potential.
