Is it normal to shift 10 lbs or so in weight?
My weight fluctuates between 120 lbs to 130 lbs throughout the year. I am 5’5, 19 years old, female. I exercise regularly and eat well. I just tend to go up and down in my weight–so at times, my clothes either feel tight or lose or just right. Is this normal?
Ignore the advertisements that these questions always bring up.
Yes, it’s not so strange to shift back and forth over the course of a year. Your level of exercise during the seasons matters, as does the fact that some people eat more at some times of year than at others. And they may get more or less exercise during the cold months than during the warm ones — or vice-versa — depending on where they live. Temperature changes in the environment can also have something of an effect on metabolism. As long as you’re staying within a given and limited weight range, then this is normal for you and for many other people. Don’t worry about it.
