Kegel8 Pelvic Toners – Do They Deliver Fast Results?
The bestselling Kegel8 Pelvic Toner range is one of the most advanced available. There are claims that they will deliver fast results in terms of toning up and repairing weakened pelvic floors, but are they really as good as Kegel claim?
There are three models in the range, the Kegel8 Tight and Tone, the Kegel8 Plus and the brand new Kegel8 Ultra. All three are similar in design. The Plus version is almost identical to the Tight and Tone, the only difference being the width of the probe, which in the plus version is wider and therefore more suitable for women who feel that their muscles are particularly slackened due to childbirth. The Ultra version has 14 programs compared with the 9 on the other models and although the control unit is updated with a better display function, all three work in similar ways.
For many years, women have been advised to carry out “kegel exercises” which are a series of tightening and releasing exercises performed on the pelvic muscles. To identify the muscles which should be tightened, women are advised to stop the flow of urine mid stream and the muscles you feel when doing this are the same muscles you need to work when exercising. Now this is all very well, but many women find that their muscles are so weak that they can barely slow down the flow of urine, let alone stop it! In addition, to have any effect, you need to perform at least 3 daily groups of 10 exercises over several weeks or months before any results will be seen.
If using the Kegel8 Tight and Tone or the Kegel8 Plus, you can begin using any of the 9 pre-set programs. If using the Kegel8 Ultra, you have a choice of 14. Find a program which feels comfortable but which you can feel working. To familiarise yourself with how the device might feel, hold it in your hand, switched on, prior to insertion. The best method of use is to alternate programs over the week as this will give a better workout. You will need to use the device twice daily on average for just a few minutes at a time.
There is no doubt that if done correctly, traditional kegel exercises will work. However, the problem is that most women find the exercises very tedious and the lack of fast, gratifying results mean that most will stop doing the kegels after just a few days. The Kegel8 Pelvic Toners claim to get over this problem by working fast and efficiently. The outstanding benefit is that you can actually sit and relax whilst the device is doing all the work-once inserted, you can sit back and watch TV, read a book or just relax.
The Kegel8 Pelvic Toners all delivery thousands of “squeezes” during each session of just a few short minutes. The average woman would struggle to do 100 in one session. This means that by using one of these toners you are effectively multiplying and magnifying the effects of the traditional kegel exercises by many hundreds, if not thousands of times.
Whether they deliver fast results is open to interpretation. When compared to the traditional tighten and squeeze exercises, there is no doubt that the Kegel8 Pelvic Toners do indeed deliver fast results. By using any of the Kegel devices, you are not going to see results after the first couple of uses, but most women report an improvement within a couple of weeks of beginning. The vast majority who persevere with the device exactly as instructed will see incontinence completely cured within 6 weeks to 6 months when using Kegel8 Pelvic Toners.
