Boyfriend and parents hate ear stretcher?
today i put in a 2mm ear stretcher my friend gave me. all my friends parents were pretty cool with it apart from mine. they think im ruining my body with it even though i’ve explained that it will shrink back to normal so long as i dont get bigger than a 8 mm. also i asked my boyfriend how he felt about them and he thinks its going to ruin my ears. should i take it out to please everyone or just rebel and keep wearing it?
It’s a really good possibility that your friends’ parents weren’t as cool with it as you think. They aren’t as likely to be upfront and honest with you as your own parents would be.
I tend to think that you shouldn’t do something to your body that you might not love 10-15 years from now. I pierced my belly button and loved it. I took the ring out about 7 years ago and the nasty scar is just so not worth it. It may shrink back to normal, but there is the possibility that it won’t. Would you care if it didn’t. Consider how it will look it 10 years. I always wondered about my friend who got a tattoo of Tweety when we were in high school- boy isn’t that going to look HOT when she’s 50 and the skin starts to sag.
Never do something just to please someone. Also, never do something just to rebel. Have a better reason than that. If you like it, keep it. Technically, they’re your ears.
